TOPIC // For Men
# PARTS // 7-Part Study
SPEAKER // John Woodall

The pressures of manhood are enormous. It may seem like everyone wants something from you—your wife, your kids, your boss, and maybe even God.

SEVEN  PART 1
WHERE AM I?

If men aren’t careful, they get to the midpoint of life and are cynical and sarcastic. They start to believe life is meaningless, so they do foolish things like trying to find satisfaction in sports cars or younger women . . . or both.

SEVEN  PART 2
WHAT'S MY STORY?

The majority of men are future oriented. They are focused on what life will look like after they’ve made that deal, achieved that goal, or built that fortune. That’s great. There are a lot of advantages to focusing on the future. But there are some dangers too.

SEVEN  PART 3
WHO AM I?

In this session, John Woodall addresses the tension he felt as he entered his sixties: "I sometimes tell people that the real John Woodall didn’t show up until I was fifty. For most of my life, I was trying to be somebody else."

SEVEN  PART 4
WHY AM I HERE?

If God created you on purpose and for a purpose, then doesn’t it make sense that leading a full and meaningful life would involve living your life in pursuit of fulfilling that purpose?

SEVEN  PART 5
WHERE AM I GOING?

If you want to find meaning in the categories of self, marriage, family, work, and church, you have to define what your desired future looks like in each of those categories. You have to determine your target before you can aim at it.

SEVEN  PART 6
WHAT ABOUT WOMEN?

When it comes to women, men are continually saying to themselves, “I shouldn’t look,” or, “I shouldn’t have these thoughts.” Guilt and shame are poor deterrents to the beauty and desires that tempt us.

SEVEN  PART 7
WHO CAN I TRUST?

Consider the power of secrets and the control those secrets have over you in the long term.
